Stretchtape Modernizes with a New Eight-Color Flexographic Press

For the past 40 years, Stretchtape has been building its reputation as the go-to specialist and supplier of converted polyethylene and polypropylene stretch films and related products for the packaging industry.

Based in Cleveland, OH, the company has taken on the challenge of modernizing its manufacturing facility in response to its growing customer demands. In line with this, the company has expanded its in-house printing capabilities to keep up with the pace of its operations.

“This investment will soon pay dividends for both the company and our customers,” says Harry McDonald, president of Stretchtape. “It gives us a clear advantage in higher print production, shorter lead times, reduced set-up times, lower minimum order quantities, and enhanced print quality.”

McDonald has observed the rise of printed stretch film as a popular marketing tool for brands that desire vibrant full-color graphics. To meet this growing demand, Stretchtape has installed a new eight-color press, allowing its customers to create visually striking flexible stretch wraps for retail products and custom-printed pallet stretch film, using either solvent or water-based inks.

The high-performance flexo press offers increased printing press speeds, solid machine engineering, and considerable energy savings simultaneously. McDonald believes it will enable Stretchtape’s skilled operators to master all aspects of flexible packaging and capitalize on the company’s many years of printing experience.
